IT as a lifestyle. Joint information project of Informator Tech portal and WizardsDev IT company

We're starting a special project devoted to the IT industry. Specialists who excel in various segments of the internet technology industry — frontend, backend, DevOps, testing, web analytics, traffic management, SEO, and many others — are among the most in demand in the labor market; they are very much sought after, and they earn very decent money.

What do all these people do, and how hard to master are their knowledge and skills? This is the question that intrigues many uninitiated people. We will try to answer these questions in a series of materials prepared by the editorial board together with WizardsDev, one of the large companies present in the Ukrainian software market.

The key thing that IT specialists should be capable of is to quickly and efficiently implement business projects on the Internet: to develop and implement CRM systems, databases, payment systems, lead generation tools, to ensure information security, and to solve many other problems using internet technologies. What do they do? They code, “draw” sites, create mobile apps, and test the product at every stage of its lifecycle. So that everything is pretty, comfortable, and works smoothly. That's if you look at it from the outside.

And if you go inside, the WizardsDev team uses these technologies just in the frontend development part:

  • JavaScript (including ES6 support);
  • HTML 5;
  • CSS 3;
  • Less;
  • Redux;
  • – Webpack;
  • React;
  • Sass;
  • Electron;
  • Backbone.js.

And this is what is used in backend:

  • Docker;
  • Java;
  • C#;
  • Golang;
  • ASP.NET;
  • Python;
  • PHP;
  • Database Insight;
  • RabbitMQ;
  • Linq2DB;
  • node.js;
  • Ruby, and so on.

Looks complicated, right? Doesn't it drive you crazy? Remember, these are only the names. Behind each, there are programming languages, algorithms, databases, prototypes, constructs, arrays, classes, objects, loops, functions, templates, and models. And hands-on teamwork. Interested? Let's get to the bottom of this.

Note. WizardsDev was created at the end of 2015 by a group of IT specialists from the USA, Israel, and Ukraine. It specializes in the creation of technological business projects mainly in the financial sector. WizardsDev currently employs about 1,500 people across its 13 offices. The central Ukrainian office of the company is located in Dnepr.
